Transitions II detail

Just thought I'd post a detail of my latest painting. This is the result of several layers of translucent paint applied directly over the white ground. Unlike with a toned ground, the white reflects through making the colors more luminous. I will be posting a step by step process in my blog. The whites will eventually be covered as I continue to add glazes.
